10 Blindfold Match
Blindfold matches are a stipulation that WWE, unfortunately, brings out every now and then, and they are quite consistently dreadful. Normally, they are reserved for comedic spots on shows but nobody ever expected to see one at WrestleMania.
Well, at WrestleMania VII WWE put a blindfold match on the card. To make matters worse, this match involved the legendary Jake 'The Snake' Roberts, who is one of the best in-ring workers of his generation.

The match was purely done for comedic purposes, but it just doesn't fit on a WrestleMania card.
9 Brawl For All Prize
Let's face it, the entire Brawl For All tournament was a complete and utter mess from the start. The idea of having 'real' boxing matches just highlighted the fact that wrestling is fake, which made fans question everything straight away.
Bart Gunn wasn't the man that people expected to win this tournament, but he surprised fans and did so. His prize? To have a boxing match with a legitimate boxer in Butterbean at WrestleMania XV.
Obviously, to no surprise, Butterbean won this fight with ease. He didn't hold back and ended up knocking out Bart Gunn with some real shots, which was such a strange thing to see on a WrestleMania card.
8 Braun Teams With...A Child?
This WrestleMania match isn't that old, but it was certainly strange enough to have been forgotten by most people. Taking place at WrestleMania 34, Braun Strowman challenged The Bar for the Raw Tag Team Titles.
On paper, this seems standard enough, as Braun teased having a mystery tag team partner, which opened the door for a big surprise. Instead...he chose a child from the crowd.
Literally, a child. While Nicholas was obviously a plant and is actually the son of a WWE referee, the entire situation was strange as Sheamus and Cesaro were totally squashed on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.
7 A Pillow Fight
If you wondered why fans were so desperate for a Women's Revolution, this is a prime example. At WrestleMania XIX, WWE thrust in a pillow fight match in between two other matches in order to just get people on the card.
The 'match' featured Stacy Keibler, Torrie Wilson, Tanya Ballinger, and Kitna Baker all brawling on a bed in what was clearly just a segment to sexualize the women, which was a huge shame.
To make matters worse, this match didn't even actually have a winner! Instead of having someone at least get the rub here, all four women ended up turning on Jonathan Coachman, undressing him and pinning him together.
6 Playboy Evening Gown
Here's another reason why a women's match managing to one-day main event WrestleMania was an unbelievable change for the women's division. At WrestleMania XX, WWE put on a ridiculous match which was a playboy evening gown match.
It was another truly insane situation which saw Torrie Wilson and Sable team up to defeat Miss Jackie and Stacy Keibler. Yet again WWE used four talented women and just wasted them with this insane match.
5 Dumpster Match
Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie teaming up in an insane WrestleMania match should be just a normal situation really. It is a gimmick match designed for them and suited their characters, but a dumpster match stipulation might have been a stretch too far for WrestleMania.
At WrestleMania XIV, Cactus and Chainsaw faced The New Age Outlaws. To win the match, their opponents had to be literally put into a dumpster. It was certainly wild and isn't one that most people think about when they hear WrestleMania.
The thing is, this tag team match is actually quite entertaining, so it's a shame that more people don't remember it quite as much, which is mainly down to the crazy gimmick itself.
4 Hollywood Backlot Brawl
One of the wildest matches to ever happen was at WrestleMania XII when "Rowdy" Roddy Piper competed against Goldust in a truly bizarre match. It had many pre-taped segments that were patched together to seem live as the two men brawled around Hollywood.
They drove around in cars, used all manner of weapons, recreated the famous OJ Simpson car chase and really just did anything chaotic that could be thought of.
It was just an utterly mad moment that wasn't really a great wrestling match, which is a shame considering how good both men are. However, there's no doubt that both men tried their best with this one.
3 Gimmick Battle Royal
A lot of wrestling fans look back to WrestleMania X-Seven as the greatest 'Mania of all time, but that doesn't mean that this show was exempt from an insane match. This show had the infamous Gimmick Battle Royal, which is as insane as it sounds.
Battle royals are something of a staple for WrestleMania, with many happening over the years. However, most of them are just straight battle royals, sometimes with a trophy or a title match on the end.
However, this match brought in a string of some of WWE's wildest gimmicks in history all into one short, a very forgettable match which was won by The Iron Sheik.
2 Miss WrestleMania
While the gimmick battle royal was a wild and strange match, it certainly wasn't the worst battle royal in WrestleMania history. No, that honor instead goes to the Miss WrestleMania battle royal.
On paper, it wasn't a bad idea to create a 'Miss WrestleMania,' and it was a fun way to get more women on the card. However, instead of making it a competitive match as WWE does now with its women's battle royal, they made it a total joke.
This was clear by the fact that WWE had Santino Marella, who was working as 'Santina Marella' at the time, win the entire match. Having a man win the match just completely disrespected everyone within the bout.
1 A Sumo Match
Big Show wrestling in a sumo outfit is just a visual that nobody ever asked for, which is likely why most fans have blocked it out of their minds. WWE likes to bring in celebrities and people outside the industry each year, and for WrestleMania 21, Akebono was the choice.
He is a legendary sumo wrestler, which was certainly cool to see. But did anybody really want a literal sumo match during WrestleMania? Of course, they didn't.
This was a rough spot for Big Show to be placed into, as he was obviously comfortably beaten in what was just a very odd match overall.
